Centurion recognises its environmental obligations to present and future generations.
We promote the most environmentally sound practices within Centurion's distribution and warehousing operations, particularly in energy usage. Our company goal is to achieve carbon emission reductions greater than mandated targets.
Centurion's extensive fleet includes prime movers that meet Euro V emission standards, producing lower levels of carbon emissions. Euro V is the highest level attainable under the current European emission standards. These prime movers also deliver outstanding fuel consumption and enhanced driver safety features.
In developing and maintaining our business operations, Centurion is committed to implementing, maintaining and continuously improving an environmental management system which endeavours to:
- Identify, prevent, control and minimise adverse environmental impacts associated with our transport operations and services.
- Comply with relevant environmental legislation and regulatory requirements and strive for best practicable methods
- In consultation with federal, state and local authorities and the community, set environmental objectives and targets to control adverse environmental effects as well as manage pollution arising from our activities
- Responsibly manage the use of resources and waste generation and disposal
- Continually measure, monitor, report and improve environmental performance of our objectives and targets
- Promote our commitment to the environment to all our stakeholders including employees, customers, suppliers, sub-contractors and neighbours
- Promote a sound awareness favourable attitudes and behaviours towards the environment among all employees and visitors.
Centurion's dual purpose truck wash cleans the trucks and trailers both internally and externally, in accordance with HACCP standards. The truck wash is very environmentally friendly; using 100% recycled water during winter, and 90% in summer. It takes just three minutes to wash one trailer and five minutes to wash a road train, so the truck wash is also very efficient.
The Environmental Management System will ensure our place as a leader in environmental protection within the logistics industry.
